Mercedes is giving the GLA a facelift

Tags

The Mercedes GLA gets a facelift for the 2017 model year. On 8 January, Mercedes unveiled the changes that flow into the compact SUV classic in the run-up to the NAIAS in Detroit (8 to 22 January 2017). In addition to an extended range of engines, optics changes inside and outside, there is also a new special equipment for the GLA.

The facelift
In the exterior, the Mercedes designers once again placed their hand on the bumpers, which are now more accentuated. There are also new light-alloy wheels and a new color tone with the sound name "Canyonbeige". The optional bi-xenon headlights are lighter and more economical. Full-LED taillights are installed at the rear. A fresh wind blows in the interior thanks to new seat covers, slightly reworked trim strips and other dials in the tachometer unit.

Technical updates
A new Otto engine with 184 hp closes the gap, which gaped between the 156- and the 211-hp petrol engine so far. On the technical side, there is also a 360-degree camera, which is available for the first time, which also represents a top view of the GLA on the infotainment system screen. This makes parking a child's play. In addition, there are now three different suspension systems: the standard comfort suspension is flanked by a lowering and the new off-road comfort chassis with a lifting height by 30 millimeters.

Prices and market start
Prices for the GLA are rising slightly. For the entry-level model GLA 180, instead of 27,787 euros, 28,940 euros are now due. The cheapest diesel engine is available from 31.951 euros. Sales start is January 9, 2017.

News at the GLA 45 4Matic
The top model GLA 45 4Matic has made a big contribution to the success of the GLA. With 381 hp and 475 newton meters, the compact SUV can even scare sports cars. On the GLA 45 4Matic the front apron, the roof spoiler and the diffuser are sharpened. There is also a new performance exhaust system with flap control. The 0-100 km / h time should ultimately benefit from the now shortened seven-speed dual clutch transmission. The GLA 45 4Matic is available from 56.852 Euro.

"Yellow Night" edition
Completely new is the "Yellow Night" edition, which Mercedes-AMG offers for all A-Class top models. There are graphite gray and yellow accents on body and attachments as well as yellow rim horns in addition to the exclusively black finish. The styling also continues in the interior with yellow and gray design elements. The "Yellow Night" edition for the GLA 45 4Matic starts at 64,468 euros.
