Lexus, the luxury brand of car maker Toyota, is going astray. The Japanese have now shown a yacht that is to jet with two Lexus engines over the seven world's oceans. Also look and equipment are typical Lexus on a high level. There is, however, a catch.
880 hp thanks to V8 power
The yacht is a concept study that Lexus has built together with various marine specialists and will probably never go into production. A total of eight passengers can be accommodated on the 12.8-meter-long boat. Thanks to a hull made of carbon-fiber reinforced plastic, the Lexus yacht is about 1,000 kilograms lighter than a comparable specimen made of fiberglass plastic. The two 440-hp Lexus V8 engines therefore have easy play with the ship and accelerate the study to a speed of 43 knots or converted around 80 km / h. In the base are the engines from the top models of the Lexus F-Automobile IS-F and GS-F. A bow thruster with joystick helps in "parking" in narrow ports.
Luxury under deck
In keeping with the nature of a Lexus car, the luxury on board the ship is not too short. The front cabin has wood, leather and glass. Below deck you can stand upright or sit down on one of the six sofa seats. An air-conditioning system and the integrated on-board kitchen ensure the well-being of the passengers. If you want to get rid of the annoying salt crust after an extensive bath in the sea, this can be done in a built-in shower in the foredeck. For a good entertainment offer various TV, a music system and a WLAN hotspot are available.
