China SUV in the secret winter test

Tags

Geely, the Chinese parent company of the Swedish car maker Volvo, has recently created a new automark called "Lynk & Co." Is heard. The Chinese have already shown a first vehicle, a "SUV", which has been pragmatically called "01". Now our Erlkönig photographer was a camouflaged 01 prototype in the winter test before the lens.

Look at the optics
For the first time the 01 shows with a slightly weakened camouflage dress. So we can take a good look at the appearance of the upcoming China SUV. As with the pictures of the concept car, the Lynk & Co. reminds of a mixture of Porsche Macan, Kia and Volvo. The headlights sit like on the Nissan Juke on the bonnet. The trunk lid is rounded off by a roof spoiler, which misses the 01 a sporty note. The slats of the radiator grille run horizontally and are framed by fog lamps.

Drive and assistance
On the drive side, the 01 will come with electrified motors, which are either coupled to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission or a manual six-speed shift. Three and four-cylinder engines are conceivable as aggregates, which become battery-driven plug-in hybrids. In order to be able to keep up with the competition, the Chinese buy the 01 various security systems. Among other things, a ramp-up warning, an emergency brake assistant, a pedestrian detection system, a distance control system as well as a wheel alignment sensor are installed in the new SUV.

Market start and price
Lynk & Co. 01 is scheduled to enter the European market in 2017. There is not yet a price, but it will be exciting how expensive - or cheaply - the Chinese brand can produce the SUV.
